It really looks like silk. I didn't have a piece to check, but I took out a couple of threads and burned them, + the fabric wrinkles very well, which indicates its naturalness. It came in a beautiful package. The seams are neat. I recommend it.

If you're skeptical, the inside corner of the pillowcase have a few loose threads you can trim off and burn.
